Legal & Notices

Notices, disclosures, and important information.

The information below is provided for transparency. Specific notices are reviewed in detail as part of the intake process.

Good Faith Estimate / No Surprises Act

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your care may cost. Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers are required to provide clients who are uninsured or not using insurance with an estimate of expected charges for services. You may request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling services. If you receive a bill that is substantially higher than your Good Faith Estimate, you may have the right to dispute the bill. More information will be provided as part of the intake process.

Telehealth

I currently provide therapy through secure online video sessions for clients physically located in California. Before beginning therapy, we will review informed consent, privacy practices, emergency procedures, the benefits and limitations of telehealth, and what to do in the event of a technology disruption. At the start of sessions, I may ask you to confirm your physical location so that I can provide appropriate care and respond effectively in case of emergency.

Notice of Privacy Practices

A full Notice of Privacy Practices, including how your protected health information may be used and disclosed, is reviewed and provided at intake.

Limits of Confidentiality

Therapy is confidential, with standard legal and ethical limits, including but not limited to: imminent risk of harm to self or others, suspected abuse or neglect of children, dependent adults, or elders, and certain court orders.
